Schechter Manhattan’s After-school Program provides engaging and fun activities that expand your child’s skills and talents. Activities are open to students in grades K-8. The program allows children to explore different experiences, develop or hone established skills, and socialize with other students.
After-school activities for students in grades K-8 are on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Activities run from 3:30-5:00p.m. and 5:00-6:00p.m.
A light snack will be served before activities begin.

We are excited to offer a robust selection of after-school activities for the Winter/Spring of 2024. Registration is now open! The first week of programming begins, January, 29, 2024.
After-school activities for students in grades K-8 are on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Activities run from 3:30-5:00 p.m. and 5:00-6:00p.m.

Extended Care (Grades K-8): Extended care provides an opportunity for students to play board games, connect with their friends, and complete homework assignments under the supervision of our homework helper instructor. Due to the openness of this course, homework completion cannot be guaranteed by the instructor. Extended care is perfect for those who require additional childcare from 5:00-6:00 P.M.

Chess (Grade 2-8): After teaching for 10+ years in several of the nation’s top schools, including the perennial National Championship school Dalton, camps, and private lessons, National Master Evan Rabin has assembled a team of the best instructors around to form Premier Chess. As a result, students have improved their opening, middle game and endgame strategy, calculating abilities, overall chess game and competitive nature.
Homework Helper (Grades K-8): Homework Helper provides structure and support for students who require a space to complete their assignments. Students will have access to classroom resources such as technology, classroom library, and personalized assistance. After the completion of all their assignments, students have the opportunity to relax by playing board games, playing with their friends, or a maximum of 15 minutes of Minecraft.

Gymnastics (Grades K-2): In this novice class, children will be introduced to the fundamentals of gymnastics. Students will develop a solid understanding of skills & learn basic movements such as cartwheels, handstands, bridges, and more, while gaining strength, flexibility, & kinesthetic awareness! All this is done according to guidelines set by USAG gymnastics. Long term benefits include agility, mobility, stamina, flexibility, coordination and core strength.

- The discrepancy between the prices for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday classes is based on the difference in the number of classes held on each day.
- There will be no refunds given after the first class has passed. Refunds before the first class runs will be given subject to a minimum number of students in the class.
